History

This is our time working with Thiririka Kiganjo and as with every other year, we’ve tested a range of over 50 samples from Kenya, and this one was an absolute stand out!

Farmers at Kiganjo are encouraged to follow good agricultural practices, such as selective hand‑picking, careful water management, and sun-drying on raised beds, to minimise environmental impact.

Kiganjo comprises primarily smallholder farms, each typically cultivating around 100 coffee trees. These farmers are organised into Cooperative Societies, which serve as overarching bodies for the factories, known as washing stations. At these stations, smallholders deliver their coffee cherries for processing.

This coffee has a very “classic” Kenyan profile. Rich and juicy with an intensity and depth to its flavour, we experience blackcurrant, red gooseberry and a great complex acidity.
